You Don't Have to Let Wedding Guests Choose Their Own Seats

When couples first hear about The Guest Table, one of the most common questions we receive is:

"Do I have to let my guests choose their own seats?"

The answer is no!

While The Guest Table gives you the option to allow guests to select their own seats, that feature is completely optional. We understand that every wedding is different, and many couples prefer to create their seating chart themselves. That's why The Guest Table is designed to work the way you want it to.

Option 1: Collect RSVPs Through The Guest Table

If you'd like to manage everything in one place, you can invite guests to RSVP through The Guest Table. As responses come in, simply log in to your account and assign guests to their tables and seats whenever you're ready.

Your guests can RSVP without choosing their own seats unless you decide to enable that feature.

Option 2: Import Your Guest List

Already collecting RSVPs by mail or through another website?

No problem! Download The Guest Table's guest list template, enter your guest names along with their table and seat assignments, and upload the completed file. Your guests will automatically appear in the correct seats on your floor plan, saving you valuable time.

Option 3: Build Your Seating Chart Manually

If you prefer complete control, simply click on any seat within your floor plan and assign guests one by one.

Need to make changes? You can move guests, update seating assignments, and adjust your layout at any time before your event.

Your Seating Chart, Your Way

Every couple plans their wedding differently, and your seating chart should work for your planning style—not the other way around.

Whether you choose to collect RSVPs through The Guest Table, import your completed guest list, or assign every guest yourself, you'll have the flexibility to create the seating chart that's right for your wedding.

At The Guest Table, you're always in control.
