‘Tis the season for wedding shows and expositions! A few weeks ago, TheGuestTable.com exhibited at the Bridal Celebrations Expo in Detroit, Michigan. On October 28, 2018, we’ll be at the Love and Life show in Dearborn, Michigan—so stop by if you are in the area! We love checking out all of the trends for 2019 weddings when we exhibit at wedding shows. In case you don’t have a chance to attend one yourself, here’s a list of the top trends for brides and grooms getting married in 2019:

Functional wedding dresses. Comfort and practicality is key when it comes to wedding gowns in the coming season. While classic silhouettes and ball gowns are not going away, wedding dresses with pockets (allowing brides to keep a few essentials close by) and shorter trains (to reduce the tripping hazards) will be popular.

Hot hues. The move toward cream and off-white wedding gowns will continue, but the rest of the wedding party is moving toward bright colors including reds, corals and hot pinks. You may see this trend bloom in wedding flowers as well.

Eco-friendly ceremonies. Experts predict that less plastic and paper will be used at next year’s engagement parties, bridal showers, and weddings. In addition, flowers that can be replanted after the ceremony and wedding meals with organic fare are going to be popular.

Philanthropic registries. Another wedding trend that is on the rise for 2019? Brides and grooms who are asking for charitable donations instead of wedding gifts. Consider registering with your favorite charities and asking guests to make a donation to them.

Engagement Moons. If you can swing paying for two trips together, one before the wedding and one after, why not do it? If that’s not realistic, you might follow the growing number of engaged couples who are going away together before they get married rather than taking a traditional honeymoons. If nothing else, it’s a great way to relieve that wedding planning stress!

These are just a few of the 2019 wedding trends that we are seeing so far. Of course, the perfect wedding seating arrangements will never go out of style.
